Nice Portable Evaporative Cooler for 1 room May 17, 2010 R. Andrews (Reno,NV) 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Room cools a 15 x 20 ft. room plus attached bathroom nicely. I am in a fairly dry desert climate and it is cheaper and more effective than A/C.
Need to refill every day or two with a couple gallons of H2O and it also has an ICE TRAY you can add ice cubes to that helps cool a little more.
Will buy another if the need arises.

I live in Nevada; temps rise to 116. To help with energy savings of the AC, installed insulation in garage door. Use this swamp cooler to cut down on the heat in the garage, which keeps the house cooler where we spend most of our days. A larger model might have been better, but this model uses less energy.
Great little item~ July 24, 2010 R. Rocco (Stockton) Put one in the garage and it lowered the temperature by ten degrees. In addition, the cool garage lowered the home temperature 4 degrees. Simply amazing. If you live in a dry place buy as many as you can afford.
great product July 29, 2010 Genealogist (Oregon USA) I ordered this item from Amazon and received it in record time.
This is ideal if you live in a dry climate like I do , keeps you cool and gives humidity.
We have had record temperatures and this has been a blessing. I am not saying this will cool your whole house but it is portable and you can move from room to room, it is also a cost saving item compared to a window A/C
Save your money and get a large box fan July 4, 2010 amazonowl 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was very pleased with the shipping and it's a real fancy, light unit considering how large it is. However, I've given this item some time and it just doesn't cut it. Never purchased anything other than fans to cool off my apartment (which is very small) but I put ice in the tray at the top and cold water and felt no change. I even moved it into the bedroom and just left it in there for hours to see if it changed the room temperature and my digital temp on the wall adjacent to the fan was at a constant 87 degrees fahrenheit (at 3am!). I now own a small, expensive drink cart with a built in fan! (that's about the sum of it) Had I known it wouldn't do any good, I would've saved my money and spent it on a couple of $15, 20" box fans at Walgreen's to cool me off much better. I have nothing against the shipper, but this product does not cool off anything. You're better off either getting a box fan or two, or really saving up for a proper air conditioner.
